Freelance East- West railroad, “most towns are fictious. Located in southern Wisconsin, & northwestern Illinois. Railroad customers are, Industrial, Agricultural, & Zinc mining & processing.
The layout is point to point. DC control ,there are 18 communities served by the railroads. The main line proceeds west from Lake Michigan
(Addison Wis.) To Waukon Ill. (north western Ill.)
The Mineral Sub Div. joins the mainline about 2/3 of the way across Wis. & ends at Mineral Wis. (Not Mineral Point, but south a ways, serves two communities.
The PY&E also joins the WM&A at the same point, & serves two communities.
The M&MRR (new construction.) proceeds from Mineral to the Mississippi River 7 miles above E. Dubuque IL. Serves three communities.
The railroads interchange with WM&A (CGW, IC, CNW, CM&St.P, CG&N (traction).
Big Four, Wis. & Mich. (by the Lake Michigan Car ferry Transportation Co. to Peshtigo WI & Benton Harbor Mich. (actual Prototype Co & Route, although was only one or two trips)>
PY&E (CNW), M&M (CB&Q) Cm&St.P by side-wheel car transfer boat to Iowa. Boat is done, wiring not!
The Wis. Central, & Chicago Milwaukee & Gary. each have trackage rights into Addison over parts of the WM&A.
