I’d like to get my layout up and running. (My wife says, “Finally!) 

Clarence and I were talking after my layout open house. He suggested I do a shake down. 

So, we will run trains and power over the entire layout looking for cars which uncouple or derail, an engine which bumps scenery, dirty rails – anything which gets in the way of a smooth operation. We will make sure the turn-outs are working smoothly. We will make sure every engine is working properly. If it isn’t I will get it repaired or retire the engine from service. We will try and make most repairs on the spot! The objective is to “get the layout up and running”. Maybe it will take a couple of sessions. Maybe we can complete the shake down in one evening. 

Don’t be afraid to attend the “work session”. Just because it says “work”, it will still be fun. I promise to have goodies and plenty of rest breaks. I will have a table to work at and hopefully have all the tools and parts needed to make repairs.

So, please sign up and help get the SP&S up and running so we can add one more operating layout to Rockrail. You know, we’ve had a decline of operating layouts this year.

I’d like to help correct that. 

There are a couple of places up the driveway next to the garage for people who might have trouble walking up the short driveway. Everyone else can park in the cup-de-sac.
