The Sunset Illinois

The Sunset Illinois is a proto/freelance railroad With three main lines. They are; Green Bay WI to Kansas City via Dixon Ilinois and St.Louis MO, Minneapolis/St. Paul to Kansas City via Dixon and St. Louis and the Chicago to Omaha NE via Dixon. There are several junctions with subdivision branch lines. The modeled portion of the railroad runs from Dixon staging to the main yard at West Peoria and on to Floyd, Buck Grove, Springfield, Prairie City, Glen Carbon, DeCamp and on to St. Louis staging. The main line is over two hundred feet long.

The City of Springfield is a busy place and has a town switcher assigned. The other fixed positions are the Yardmaster at West Peoria and the Dispatcher. Decamp features a junction and interchange with the Litchfield & Madison railroad. Glen Carbon has a junction with the Terre Haute subdivision. West Peoria has a branch that runs the perimeter of the room and that job will keep you busy and thinking!
